Last semester at Iowa State University, I had to take a course on deciding a major. Through a portion of the course we went through and learned about resumes. English 2770 has helped me more through learning about a cover letter. We only ever made our resumes in the other course, so to learn about the importance of a cover letter was new for me.
Another new thing I learned was forming your resume into a way that would look best for the job you are applying for. Before this, I had assumed you make one resume and hand it out with all your applications, but it makes much more sense to make it fit into your prospective job. Not lie by any means, just make it fit!
